Inter-Ministerial Central Team to visit Haryana for assessing drought situation

New Delhi, Sept 12 (IBNS): Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, has constituted an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) to visit Haryana for assessing the situation and recommend requirement of Central assistance from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).

The team will visit Haryana soon, read a government statement.

The team will be led by Managing Director, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC) and will consist of representatives of Ministries/Departments Finance (Department of Expenditure), Planning Commission, Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Water Resources, Department of Food & Public Distribution, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries and Crops Division, Deptt. of Agriculture & Cooperation.

"Govt. of Haryana (Revenue and Disaster Management Department) vide notification dated 02.09.2014 has declared entire State as drought affected for the purpose of extending relief/taking remedial measures for the affected people as per the norms laid down by the State Govt /Central Govt," read the statement.
