Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Monday advanced 18 paise to 74.21 against the USD in closing session on brisk selling of US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The local unit that moved up by ten paise to 74.28 in opening trade, gained further and finished positive at 74.21, advancing 18 paise as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee jumped due to weak dollar against other world currencies amid positive equity market, dealer said.

The local unit registered days high and low at 74.31 and 74.18 respectively.
