Indian Rupee advances 42 paise against USD

Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Friday edged up by 42 paise to 73.38 against the greenback on brisk selling of US Dollar by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The local unit that rose by 17 paise to 74.63 in opening trade, spurted by 42 paise to finish at 73.38 as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee shot up owing to weak Dollar against other world currencies,amid positive stock market, dealers said.

The rupee registered intra days high and low at 73.69 and 73.32 respectively, he added.
