Indian markets decline on Friday

Mumbai. Oct 7 (IBNS): The Indian market closed on Friday in negative territory, with Sensex down 45.07 points at 28061.14 and Nifty down 11.95 points at 8697.60, largely due to selling in blue-chip stocks, according to media reports.

Some of the key stocks that ended as gainers were Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Adani Ports and Lupin while Asian Paints, Cipla, Infosys, HDFC and Bharti Airtel decined on Friday.

The July-September quarter earnings of companies are expected to begin in October, with Infosys scheduled to declare its results on Oct 14, according to media reports.
