Indian Market: Sensex surges 213.27 pts

Mumbai: The BSE sensex on Wednesday rallied 213.27 pts to close at 65,433.30 on the strength of Bankex, Capital Goods, Industrials and Metal stocks.

The Nifty too gained 47.55 pts at 19,444.

The Sensex opened higher at 65,300.93, rising 80 pts.It was spurted 284 pts at 65,504.71, days

high before closing at 65,433.30, up 213.27 pts from its previous close.

The stocks that lifted the market were, Bankex by 1.20 pc followed by Capital Goods by 1.16 pc, Industrials by 1.08 pc and Metal by 1.05 pc.

The Mid Cap moved up by 0.42 pc and Small Cap by 0.60 pc.

The gainers were SBI by 1.51 pc to Rs 576.90, ICICI Bank by 1.46 pc to Rs 966, L&T by 1.40 pc to Rs 2716.95 and Tata Steel by 1.15 pc to Rs 118.90.

The losers were Jio Finance Services by 5 pc to Rs 227.25, Sun Pharma by 1.47 pc to Rs 1120.05, Bharti Airtel by 1.16 pc to Rs 867.30 and Tata Motors by 1.01 pc to Rs 614.60.

In 31 scrips, 17 advanced while 14 declined.
