Indian Market: Sensex opens lifetime high at 55,192.29 pts

Mumbai/UNI: BSE Sensex on Friday opened at a lifetime high at 55,192.29, rising by 348 pts in the opening session as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty too rose by 106 pts at 16,470.60.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 55,211.05 and 54,905.49 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 16,473.25 and 16,376.30 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.33 pc and the Small Cap by 0.51 pc.

In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 11 declined.

The gainers were Bajaj Auto by 2.06 pc to Rs 3844.05, L& T by 2.01 pc to Rs 1655, HCL Technology by 1.64 pc to Rs 1115, Bharti Airtel by 1.61 pc to Rs 633.30 and ITC by 1.51 pc to Rs 212.05.

The losers were Bajaj Finance by 0.67 pc to Rs 6156.30, Tech Mahindra by 0.59 pc to Rs 1378.90, Kotak Bank by 0.56 pc to Rs 1777.90 and IndusInd Bank by 0.44 pc to Rs 1030.70.
