Indian Market: Sensex lifetime high at 46,666.46 pts

Mumbai/UNI: Extending rally for the third straight session the BSE Sensex on Wednesday ended at a record peak at 46,666.46, surging 403.29 pts on the strength of Realty, Consumer Durable, Telecom and Industrials stocks amid strong global cues.

The Nifty of national stock exchange too rose by 114.85 pts at 13,682.70.

The Sensex opened higher by 310 pts at 46,573.31. Till the end of the day, it spurted 441 pts to 46,704.97, days high before closing at 46,666.46, advancing by 403.29 pts from its previous close.

In sectoral indices, Realty was on top, up by more than 5 per cent followed by Consumer Durable, Telecom and Industrials stocks.

In scrips, Bharti Airtel was a top gainer, moving up by 2.70 pc to Rs 517.85 followed by HDFC, ONGC, Titan and Asian Paints.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 46,704.97 and 46,402.20 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 13,692.35 and 13,606.45 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap was up by 0.87 pc and Small Cap by 0.88 pc.

In 30 scrips, 21 advanced while 9 declined.
