Indian equity benchmarks recover on Thursday and end positive

Mumbai, Dec 8 (IBNS): The Indian market ended positive on Thursday with BSE Sensex up 457.41 points at 26694.28 and NSE Nifty up 144.80 points at 8246.85.

Withdrawal of incremental CRR hike by the central bank, bargain hunting, weakness in dollar (and positive global cues) ahead of European Central Bank meeting due later on Thursday and renewed FIIs buying interest also boosted the market sentiment, reported moneycontrol.com.

Some of the key stocks that gained on Thursday Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Auto while NTPC was the major loser on BSE Sensex.
