Indian benchmark indices decline on Monday

Mumbai, Sep 26 (IBNS): The Indian benchmarks recorded a decline on Monday with Sensex down 373.94 points at 28294.28 and Nifty down 108.50 points at 8723.05.

According to media reports, negative cues from Asian markets and focus on US presidential elections had an impact on the market sentiments.

The  first US presidential debate between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton is scheduled to take place at Hofstra University in New York on Monday night.

Key stocks that gained on Monday were Coal India, Reliance, Dr Reddy's Labs, Lupin and TCS  while ONGC, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, NTPC, L&T and GAIL declined.
