Mumbai, Sep 12 (IBNS): The Indian market plummeted on Monday with the benchmark indices posting their biggest one-day loss in percentage terms since June 24, according to media reports.

Sensex was down 443.71 points or 1.54 percent at 28353.54 and Nifty was down 151.10 points or 1.70 percent at 8715.60.

Negative global cues were largely responsible for the negative sentiment.

Key stocks that declined on Monday included ITC, L&T, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, SBI, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank while Infosys, Delta Corp, Balkrishna Industries, ICRA, Tech Mahindra and Redington were among the key gainers.
