IIM Calcutta Innovation Park signs MoU with West Bengal State Council of Science & Technology

Kolkata/IBNS: IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) will act as a knowledge partner in a collaborative effort with the government of West Bengal to promote entrepreneurship in areas of science and technology in the state.

IIMCIP, one of the leading technology and business incubators in India under the aegis of IIM Calcutta, therefore signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with West Bengal State Council of Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology and Biotechnology (WB-SCST).

The MoU was signed in the presence of Bratya Basu, the state’s minister of Science and Technology and Biotechnology Department, Dr Subhrangshu Sanyal, CEO of IIMCIP, and Prof. Anju Seth, Director of IIM Calcutta.

The agreement consists of a series of programs and activities that are expected to help in identifying, training and nurturing S&T entrepreneurial talent in West Bengal.

The agreement also includes capacity building in areas of S&T among relevant government officials and trainers.

Said Prof. Anju Seth, Director of IIM Calcutta, “IIM Calcutta and IIM Calcutta Innovation Park are happy to traverse the Bengal entrepreneurial journey hand-in-hand with the Government of West Bengal in now extending our legacy partnership with the Department of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises and Textiles (MSME&T) that launched ‘Shilpa Abhijan’- a movement to foster district level entrepreneurship in West Bengal.”

IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, CEO, Dr Subhrangshu Sanyal said, “The program aims at commercialization of science and technology innovation by creating awareness and providing necessary handholding support to the innovators.”
