ICICI Bank inaugurates 413th branch in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Oct 30 (IBNS) : ICICI Bank Ltd on Friday inaugurated a new branch at Shenoy Nagar in Chennai, becoming the first private sector bank to have over 400 branches in Tamil Nadu.

The bank had marked its foray into retail banking in 1994 by opening its first branch in Chennai, at Cenotaph Road in Teynampet.

K. Rosaiah, Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu, inaugurated the branch.

The new branch will remain open from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Monday to Friday and from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm on the first, third and fifth Saturday of the month. It will offer a comprehensive range of loans and deposits including saving, current and term deposits, home loans, gold loans, auto loans, personal loans along with NRI services.

Over half of the Bank’s branches are located in the rural areas of Tamil Nadu, while the rest are spread across urban and semi-urban areas.

ICICI Group has also been actively involved in imparting vocational training to underprivileged youth through ICICI Academy for Skills. The Academy has three centres in Tamil Nadu. They are located in Chennai, Coimbatore and Trichy. It has provided training and employment opportunities to over 4500 youth across the state.

ICICI Bank has 4054 branches and 12,964 ATMs in the country (as on September 30, 2015).
