have plans to extend our service to West Bengal because it has substantial presence of small and medium- sized enterprises.”

Apart from having branches in Qatar and GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries the bank has representative offices in China, Canada,
Turkey, Singapore, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, South Korea, South Africa and Australia.

Doha Bank presently has made a direct lending to the tune of $2 billion in the Indian market and expects the figure to get doubled to $5 billion in the next three years.

“India is sustainable performer. The Indian economy is growing day by day and hence the bilateral trade and investment between India and the
Gulf Cooperation Council is also expected to grow in future. The Indian SMEs here can even set up their business in Qatar and other GCC
countries by availing cheap credits from Doha Bank, 87 percent of our lending is guaranteed by the Qatar government “ Seetharaman added.
