Bank of Baroda inaugurates transaction related SMS service in 12 Indian languages

Mumbai, Jan 20 (IBNS): Bank of Baroda celebrated World Hindi Day at its Corporate Office in Mumbai.

Director of K.K. Birla Foundation, New Delhi Suresh Rituparna was the Chief Guest of the function.

On this occasion, the Executive Directors of the Bank Mayank K. Mehta and Papia Sengupta inaugurated transaction related SMS services in 12 Indian languages for its customers.

The programme started with welcome address by General Manager Radhakant Mathur.

Deputy General Manager (Official Language) Jawahar Karnavat deliberated upon the importance of World Hindi Day and achievements of the Bank in the field of Official Language Implementation. General Manager (IT) S.S. Ghag briefed about the services being provided by the Bank to its customers in Hindi and other regional languages.

The Chief Guest Rituparna praised the Bank for launching transaction related SMS services in 12 Indian languages including Hindi for its customers.

While highlighting the importance of Hindi abroad and their inclination towards the language, he made a mention that growth of Hindi denotes the growth of the nation.

He further added that such innovative initiative will propagate the use of Hindi and other regional languages among common people.

Students from Japan, North Korea and Sri Lanka who are learning Hindi in India, introduced themselves in Hindi and spell bound the audience.

The programme was conducted by Babita Upadhyay and vote of thanks was proposed by Chief Manager Punit Kumar Mishra.
