Aircel to add 150 3G towers to boost connectivity in West Bengal

Kolkata, Jan 19 (IBNS): Keeping in line with its commitment to provide a robust connectivity and seamless data experience to its customers in West Bengal, Aircel, one of India’s leading innovative telecom service providers, today announced the setting-up of 150 3G towers by March, 2016.

In addition, Aircel also plans to add 1000 Aircel Sewa Kendra in the entire state in the next three months to redefine customer experience.     

Aircel currently boasts over 3000 sites in West Bengal and the addition of another 150 3G sites in the next three months will not only augment data growth but also strengthen connectivity. The network expansion will help 3G users enjoy a maximum speed of 21Mbps.

Anand Prakash, Business Head – Rest of West Bengal, Aircel, said, “There has been a significant growth in the population of 3G users, who are looking for an uninterrupted data experience. Today the mobile screen has increasingly become personalized and we have been working tirelessly to live up to this expectation of our customers. Hence, we’ve redoubled our efforts in expanding our 3G network all across West Bengal. We are adding 150 3G sites in West Bengal to build a robust 3G network that will immensely help us serve our customers better. Aircel has witnessed a robust growth of over 50 percent in data revenues in 2015 and our 3G unique users have grown by over 200 percent. Data has made significant contribution to our gross revenue on month-on-month basis largely driven by rise in 3G users.”

He added, “In our bid to improve the retail experience of our valued customers, we are also setting up 503 Aircel Sewa Kendra across West Bengal in the first phase. We will have 1000 Aircel Sewa Kendra by Q1 2016.  Aircel Sewa Kendra will be one-stop-shop for our customers and will also support our trade partners.  Aircel Sewa Kendra will facilitate customers with new connections, recharges and requests for activation of services and plan change, etc. Our objective is to provide one Aircel Sewa Kendra per BTS across our network in West Bengal.”

For the benefit of new customers, Aircel also launched data recharges - for new acquisitions - of 1GB 3G for 28 days @ Rs.95 and 1GB 2G for 28 days @ Rs.58. Aircel strives to offer innovative and best value-for-money products and services.
