Yogi Adityanath death threat: 24-yr-old Fatima Khan arrested from Mumbai's Thane

Mumbai: Hours after a death threat was issued to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a 24-year-old woman, identified as Fatima Khan, has been arrested for allegedly sending the threatening message, media reports said.

According to an NDTV report, Mumbai Police identified the sender as Fatima Khan after tracing the message to her phone.

She holds a BSc in Information Technology and suffers from mental illness, the report said.

In the threat message, she asked Yogi Adityanath to resign within 10 days or face a fate "like Baba Siddique", said media reports

She lives with her family in Thane, near Mumbai, where her father runs a timber business.

The Mumbai Traffic Police control room received the threat message late Saturday.

The message, sent via a WhatsApp helpline from an anonymous number, warned that if Adityanath did not step down within the specified time, he would be "killed like Baba Siddique."

This is the third time Mumbai Police received a threat message against a public figure since Baba Siddique’s murder.

On October 29, the police received a message targeting actor Salman Khan, demanding Rs 2 crore and threatening him. In that case, a man from Bandra was taken into custody.

The second threat message warned that Salman Khan would face a fate worse than Siddique’s if he did not pay Rs 5 crore.
