Yoga has become the most powerful and unifying force in the world: PM Modi

Dehradun, Jun 21 (IBNS): On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said Yoga has become the most powerful and unifying force in the world.

Modi made the comment prior to performing Yoga along with 50,000 participants at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) campus in Dehradun on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, the PM said: "Yoga has become one of the most powerful and unifying force in the world."

"I can tell you with full belief that if the statistics of the whole world performing yoga is shown, the result would surprise all of us."

The PM said people are doing Yoga anywhere and everywhere like in schools, colleges, offices, roads, fields and others.

Earlier a tweet from his office read, "Yoga Day greetings! In a short while from now, PM @narendramodi will be joining the Yoga Day programme at the FRI campus in Dehradun."

A series of Yoga related events are being organised across the world to mark the occasion.

The PM had earlier participated in Yoga celebrations at Rajpath in New Delhi in 2015, the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh in 2016 and the Ramabai Ambedkar Sabha Sthal in Lucknow in 2017.
