Yaba tablets and drugs worth Rs 6 Cr seized in Kolkata, 3 peddlers arrested

Kolkata/UNI: The Special Task Force(STF) of Kolkata Police has seized contraband drugs, including yaba tablets and heroin worth Rs 6 crore, and arrested three peddlers from eastern part of the city, police said on Wednesday.

The STF following specific inputs had raided a secluded area at Chowbhaga area of Kolkata's Anandapur on the X-Mas day and seized the drugs worth several lakhs of rupees from them.

Among the arrested individuals, two are from the north eastern part of the country and another from north Bengal.

The yaba drugs have beemn in great demand in many city pockets, especially among the youths, police said. Even students areconsuming this drug, the sources added.

The trio would be produced before a local court today.
