'Would you rather watch your parents...': Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia's controversial 'sex' remark triggers uproar

Mumbai/IBNS: Popular YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, who was once awarded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has landed himself in a controversy after passing a potentially-offensive remark that has irked his followers and drawn ire from all sections of people.

During the latest episode of Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent, Ranveer asked a contestant about the size of his p***s and then asked him to suck his d**k.

Ranveer was heard saying in a viral video, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?"

Social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina and content creator Ashish Chanchlani, who were the co-panelists, were flabbergasted while they were laughing.

The remark has not only irked the social media users with several of them being his followers, an official complaint has been filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and Maharashtra Women's Commission against the podcaster.

Slamming the remark, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "Yes, I have come to know about it. The presentation was ugly and it's wrong. Everyone has freedom of speech but it can't encroach others' freedom.

"There are certain rules in our society and action should be taken against all who violate."

Slamming Ranveer, journalist-author Neelesh Mishra posted on X, "Decency is not incentivised in India — by platforms or audiences — and creators are stooping lower and lower for audience reach and revenue. Banal, crass, insensitive are words only for boring uncool people.

"These creators can say anything in the name of freedom of speech and get away with it. Again, meet the creators who are shaping our country’s creative economy."
