World Student Day observed in Nagaland

Kohima: The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority, under the aegis of the National Legal Service Authority, observed World Student Day as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Legal Services Week in the District legal Services Authorities focusing on ‘Right to Education Act’ in achieving quality and inclusive accessible education with Legal literacy Clubs, Law students, schools, colleges among others.

Phek DLSA organized a programme at Phek Government College.

Neiwe Mero, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, PGC spoke on the significance of the day.

Thomeweu, Panel lawyer, Phek DLSA, spoke on ‘Right to Education Act, 2019.

40 Students attended the programme.

Zunheboto DLSA observed World Students Day with Legal Literacy Club of St. Anthony School at St. Peter Hostel, Amphoto Colony.

Tovi Z Yeptho, Project Assistant emphasized on Right to Education and other basic Legal rights and laws with regard to students.

Wokha DLSA conducted an awareness programme and Speech Competition with Government High School Wozhuro and Green Valley School, Wozhuro. Para Legal Volunteer Zujano Kikon gave a talk on Right to Education, Health & Family Welfare Schemes. Tumchobeni Km, Green Valley School, Soyingro Khuvung, Green Valley School, and Lideno Ngullie Government High School Wozhuro were adjudged as the winners. PLV Janbenthung Ngullie and Lokyoni Odyuo, teacher GHS, Wozhuro were the judges.

Tuensang DLSA organized a programme at Government Primary School station 'B' Shamator. PLV Tsurito spoke on right to education.

The programme was organised by PLV Thsangtong and Tsurito and Kihomong teacher GPS delivered the welcome address.

All together 35 beneficiaries attended the programme.

Kohima DLSA celebrate World student Day at Kohima Law College, Kohima.

Vimeno highlighted the objectives and provision of Right to Education Act. Toshi O Longkumer, Advocate, Guwahati High Court, Kohima bench shared on Professional Ethics & Art of Advocacy. He encouraged the students to uphold the essence of legal profession and to act in dignified manner. Atila Pongen, Panel lawyer also emphasised on legal services activities.

Mokokchung DLSA held a programme with Mokokchung Law College and also held an event for revamping the MLC Legal Services Clinic. Para legal volunteers of the college were assigned for manning the said clinic. A beautification drive around the college campus by planting flowers and trees was also held.
