Woman drug peddler among three arrested with cannabis in Jammu outskirts

Jammu/UNI: Police on Friday arrested three drug peddlers including a woman with cannabis ion Jhajjar Kotli area here in the outskirts of Jammu.

Police said that a police party from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli headed by Station House Officer, Inspector Rajesh Khajuria during patrolling in the Rani Talaw area this evening on national highway observed some suspicious activities.

“On questioning, a lady namely Kousar Bano of Christain Colony, New Plot, Janipur Jammu who was holding a packet disclosed that the packet contained charas (cannabis) which she has purchased from the persons boarding the car,” police said and added that during search of the vehicle, four more packets were recovered which were concealed in the doors of the car by the accused persons.

The total quantity of charas 6-kg and cash amounting to Rs 22,000 were recovered.

The lady and other two accused namely Azad Ahmed Dar of Bachroo, Kulgam and Nazir Ahmed Mantoo of Bachroo, Kulgam has been arrested while two-wheeler (JK02CJ-9454) driven by lady was also seized.

A case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
