With his controversial statement, Anurag brings embarrassment to Himachal: Congress

| @indiablooms | Jan 29, 2020, at 11:44 pm

Shimla/UNI: All India Congress Committee General Secretary Rajni Patil on Wednesday hailed the Election Commission's decision of removing Union Minister Anurag Thakur from BJP's star campaigners list for Delhi assembly elections over his controversial statements.

She said that Thakur stooped so low to make such an inflammatory speech that the people of the state are ashamed of his behaviour in public.

Youngsters and other sections of the society have high hopes from young leaders to work towards the betterment of the nation by showing their commitment to address the burning issues, Patil said.

Instead of discussing the rising unemployment and falling economy of the nation, the representatives of the government are engaged in conspiracies to spread hatred and incite violence among people, the Congress leader said.

She pointed out that the people of the state are known for their inherent values, conduct and behaviour. "Mr Thakur behaved irresponsibly and made such indecent remarks, despite he is holding a high berth in the Union Cabinet," she said.

"Public have more expectations from a two-time chief minister's son who has been elected four times in Lok Sabha," Patil said.

She also appealed the government for strict action against political leaders for making irresponsible statements.
