Will return with full majority: Narendra Modi says while addressing first press conference

New Delhi, May 17 (IBNS): As campaigning for the last phase of the Lok Sabha Polls ended on Friday, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi addressed separate press conferences in the national capital where the Indian PM expressed his confidence that his government will return with 'full majority'.

"The government this time will return with full majority," Modi said in his first press conference.

"I believe we can say some things proudly today. We are the biggest democracy in the world," Modi said.

Taunting the previous UPA-led government, Modi said: "There was a time when IPL had to be taken out of the country for polls. However, when there is an adept government, we can manage to hold elections, observe Ramzan, Easter and more."

Speaking at the press conference, BJP president Amit Shah said: " Modi was part of a wide and hardworking campaigning trail for the polls this time."

Shah said this was the first time when opposition parties could not corner the government on the issues like 'corruption' and 'price rise'.

"This government has worked in increasing the image of India globally," Shah said.

The last phase of polling of the seven-phased polls will end on Sunday.

Election results will be announced on Thursday (May 23).
