Dumka, May 16 (UNI): Jharkhand Mukti Morcha supremo and party nominee from Dumka Shibu Soren today said that he would continue to fight the elections as long as he was alive.

"Pata nahi kab tak rahenge...Jab tak Zinda rahenge ladenge (I do not know how long I will live but will fight as long as I live)," Soren told reporters during an interaction with the media outside his residence in Khijuria here. He said that he had no issues that his own disciple Sunil Soren was contesting against him.

He said that he had no problems with Sunil contesting against him and it was for the people to decide who they want to vote for.

He, however, did admit that development has taken place in the state despite the progress not being up to mark. He said development was an ongoing process and would continue to happen.

When asked whether the area was experiencing a Modi wave he said no one in Dumka was saying "Modi Modi". He said the BJP was not going to gain in Jharkhand.

Shibu Soren is an eight time MP from Dumka seat of the Santhal Pargana region of the state. Voting in Santhal Pargana is scheduled in the last phase on May 19. This election is being considered last for the JMM patriarch who turned 76 in January and is battling various old-age related health issues.
