Will continue to fight and win: Rahul Gandhi after pleading not guilty in RSS defamation case

Bhiwandi, Jun 12 (IBNS): Coming out from Bhiwandi court after pleading not guilty in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) defamation case on Tuesday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said he will continue to fight and win against the RSS and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Rahul attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi while speaking about his legal battle against the RSS.

He said: "Let him (Narendra Modi) file more cases. I will fight and win. This is an ideological battle."

Seizing the press interaction as an opportunity to take on the BJP-led central government, Rahul criticised Modi's policies and silence over several issues that concern the nation.

The Congress president said: "Our fight is with the policies of PM Modi. Youth has no employment. The PM does not do anything for the employment of youth and protection of the farmers of the country."

"The PM remains silent on inflation, fuel price hike," he added.

RSS worker Rajesh Kunte had filed a defamation case against Rahul after the latter accused the RSS of assassinating Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, media reports said.

Rahul had appeared at Bhiwandi court on Tuesday.

During an election rally in 2014, Rahul had accused the RSS of assassinating Mahatma Gandhi.

The Congress president has confessed that he did accuse the RSS of assassinating Mahatma Gandhi.

On May 2, the court had asked Rahul to appear before it on Jun 12.

RSS, which is a right-wing Hindu organisation, is an ideological mentor of the BJP.
