Ghaziabad/IBNS: Popular YouTuber and social media commentator Saleem Wastik is battling for life after being stabbed multiple times at his residence in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, media reports said.

Wastik, who publicly identifies as an ex-Muslim and is known for appearing on television debates, was attacked on February 27 at his office set up inside his residence in Ashok Vihar Colony.

According to reports, two men arrived on a motorcycle without a number plate and entered the premises wearing helmets, which they did not remove. The attackers allegedly stabbed Wastik multiple times, and witnesses claimed there was also an attempt to slit his throat.

Family members and locals immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital. Doctors later referred him to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Delhi after identifying the injuries as life-threatening.

Police reached the spot in the Ali Garden area after receiving a distress call through Dial 112 around 8 am.

Wastik’s son, Usman, lodged a formal complaint naming the two unidentified attackers and also mentioning several individuals he suspects may be linked to the incident. The names cited in the complaint include Ashfaq Sonu, Shahrukh Neta, Bhati Builder, and a local AIMIM leader identified as Ajgar.

Police have launched an investigation into the attack, which has triggered debate around freedom of expression, social media activism, and the safety of controversial public figures.
