What is NAFEX.in? Amit Shah will launch NAFED's auction portal tomorrow
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will launch NAFED's auction portal, NAFEX.in, on June 23 at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi.
During the event, Shah will unveil several key digital and farmer-centric initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency and welfare in the cooperative sector.
The initiatives include the NAFED-KALYAN scholarship scheme for farmers' children, the DRISHTI portal for inventory management of pulses and oilseeds, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) portal to strengthen operational management, and the NAFEX.in auction platform.
A live demonstration of the auction portal's registration process and the launch of its auction operations will also take place during the programme.
The introduction of NAFEX.in marks a significant step toward improving transparency, efficiency and ease of doing business in the agricultural auction ecosystem. The platform is expected to streamline auction-related activities through a digital interface, benefiting farmers, member institutions and other stakeholders.
On the occasion, Shah will also distribute NAFED-KALYAN scholarship cheques to children of farmers, underscoring NAFED's commitment to farmer welfare and educational support.
Following the launch event, the Union Minister will meet members of NAFED's Board of Directors. During the meeting, NAFED officials will present an overview of the organisation's activities and progress, including action taken on directives issued during Shah's previous visit and its future roadmap.
NAFED plays a crucial role in supporting farmers through agricultural marketing, procurement operations and cooperative-based agricultural trade across the country.
The launch of these digital and welfare initiatives aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Sahkar Se Samriddhi" and the government's broader efforts to strengthen cooperative institutions through technology-driven, transparent and farmer-focused reforms.
