West Bengal: Three-phased Panchayat polls to be held in May

Kolkata, Mar 31 (IBNS): The upcoming Panchayat polls in West Bengal is all set to start from May 1, said the state Election Commission on Saturday.

It will be held in three phases, the election Commission of the state announced on Saturday.

After May 1, the second two phases of the polls will be held on May 3 and 5.

State Election Commissioner A K Singh told media that the counting of votes will be held on May 8.

The Panchayat polls is being considered a crucial platform for election battle before the Lok Sabha polls in 2019.
