Kolkata: A major fire that broke out at a plastic factory at Baruipur in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on Saturday night was still razing as the fire brigade personnel with the help of locals were fighting the blaze, official sources said on Sunday.

Sources said though the fire was under control this morning, there were several pockets left to be brought to full safety.

No casualty has been reported, though the factory almost turned into a rubble.

The fire at the factory, located in Mallikpur was first noticed around 9 PM on Saturday after the workers had left for the day, eyewitnesses told the Baruipur police.

Police and fire brigade personnel made all efforts to ensure the safety of the locality.

The cause of the fire was yet to be examined, police added.
