West Bengal: Explosion in firecracker factory injures 3

Kolkata/East Midnapore, Sept 7 (IBNS): At least three persons were seriously injured due to an explosion in home-based firecracker factory at Mahaldihi area under Egra Police Station limits in West Bengal's East Midnapore district on Wednesday, reports said.

According to reports, a sudden explosion took place in the factory when firecrackers were being processed there.

Three men, Gopal Das, Laltu Das and Gokul Manna, were injured in the incident and rushed to Egra Sub-Divisional Hospital and later shifted to Medinipur Medical College and Hospital.

Police have started investigation into the matter to know the exact reason behind the explosion, while authorization of the firecracker factory has not been confirmed so far.
