West Bengal: Class V student raped and killed in Birbhum

Kolkata/Birbhum, June 3 (IBNS): A minor girl was allegedly raped and then murdered on Thursday midnight at Rambhadrapur village under Tarapith Police Station limits in West Bengal's Birbhum district, reports said.
According to reports, the victim girl, who was a five-standard student, was sleeping with her grandmother in their house and went missing since Thursday night.
 
Her body was found from an isolated hut, nearby her house.
 
After primary investigation, police confirmed that the minor girl was raped and then killed.
 
Police have started investigation into the matter and no arrest has been made so far.
 
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday ordered for a CID probe into the incident. A team of CID, from its headquarter in Kolkata, is heading towards Tarapith.
 
According to source, a joint team of local police and CID will visit the village, where the crime took place.
