We will decide the course of future of this country today: Modi on GST at Parl session

New Delhi, June 30 (IBNS): In a attempt to create history, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined other leaders of the country at the Parliament as the country is all set to witness the unveiling of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.

The Parliament is witnessing the assembly of top leaders from the nation where the unveiling of the regime will be held in the next few minutes.

Speaking in the Central Hall of the Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the move will decide India's future course of action.

"We are going to decide the course of the future of this country," Modi said.

"Today, after so many years,I feel the Parliament is the best place to roll out a new tax regime in the shape of GST," he said.

"Country will move towards a new direction in a few moments," he said.

Modi said the GST is the result of a long hours of discussion and debate on the issue.

"GST is not achievement of any single govt but a result of collective efforts of all," he said.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley earlier said: "It's a journey where India will awake to limitless possibilities, to expand its economic horizons,& loftier political vision."

Arun Jaitley said the GST will help India rise beyond 'narrow politics'.

"It will be an India that will write a new destiny...India can rise beyond narrow politics," Jaitley said.
