Vedanta Foundation inaugurates two computer centers in WB
The centre was inaugurated by Abhinav Chandra, IAS (Director of Employment & Joint Secretary- Labour department)-Government of West Bengal.
With a heart for social development for the underprivileged population in the country, the foundation envisions to provide coaching classes six days a week for prices ranging from as low as Rs. 1000 to Rs. 3500 for those who wish to learn advanced computer courses introduced in association with Aptech but cannot afford it due to expensive coaching fees of commercial classes.
The course includes Java, Distributed computing in Java, working with database and security in java, Advanced course in Web designing, Ms. Office and many more.
With its new computer centre at Park Street and Lake Gardens, the Foundation will be targeting entire Kolkata, Howrah, North & south 24 Parganas, Hoogly, Purba Medinipur and north Bengal interior areas to provide basic computer education .
D.P. Agarwal, Founder Trustee, Vedanta foundation -said “The Foundation is committed to bring social changes through various activities for the people in India and we are extremely happy to have our computer centers in Kolkata to provide basic foundation to economically backward talented students."
Speaking on the initiative, Lona Nayak, CEO, Vedanta Foundation said, “We, have trained more than Ten lakh people from across India and the intention behind providing basic computer courses is to students for better employment opportunities and these students in turn will imbibe the ethos and the values that will be inculcated into them and will carry out into their profession in particular and in social life at large."
Foundation has recently organized placement drives in Siliguri, West Bengal & Gantok in Sikkim campus where leading organization like Serco, Yoma International, DKI Apparel, Pamac Finserve Pvt Ltd, Axis bank, Mc Donald’s, CCD, Eureka Forbes ltd and many more came forward for recruiting people for their organizations.
