Varanasi: AAP workers allege attack by BJP

Varanasi, Apr 29 (IBNS): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers on Tuesday alleged that they were attacked by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

They alleged that while campaigning near Assi Ghat on Monday night, some BJP workers manhandled them.

"They were BJP workers. They called Kejriwal an escapist. When we asked them to sit and debate, they got more people and beat us up," AAP worker Ankit Lal was quoted as saying by CNN-IBN.

While AAP claimed that some of its workers have been injured in the incident, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed in this regard.
