V Muraleedharan to visit Colombo tomorrow to join Sri Lankan Independence Day celebration, scheduled to meet President Ranil Wickremesinghe

New Delhi: At the invitation of the Government of Sri Lanka, Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, V. Muraleedharan is visiting Colombo to participate in the celebrations connected with the 75th Independence Day of Sri Lanka on Feb 4.

During the visit, Minister of State will also have separate bilateral interactions with President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, M.U.M. Ali Sabry on matters of mutual interest.

"He will also have an interactive session with prominent members of the Indian Diaspora," read a government statement.

It may be recalled that this year also marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is India’s close neighbhour and friend and occupies a central place in India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy. India, as always is committed to stand with the people of Sri Lanka for their economic recovery, growth and prosperity.
