Uttarakhand: 10 dead as bus skids off Rishikesh Gangotri highway
Dehradun, July 19 (IBNS): At least 10 people have died, while 9 others sustained injuries, as a bus skidded off the Rishikesh Gangotri highway in Uttarakhand, reports said.
The incident took place near Suryadhar on Thursday morning.
The vehicle, an Uttarakhand Transport Corporation bus, was carrying 25 people during the time of the tragedy.
Announcing a compensation package, the state government has said that the next of kin of the deceased will receive Rs 2 Lakh each, while, Rs 50,000 each will be handed over to the wounded.
