At least three suspected Khalistani terrorists, who were accused of carrying an attack on a police post in Punjab’s Gurdaspur region, were killed during an encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district, media reports said on Monday.

A joint team of the Punjab and UP Police conducted the operation.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Gurwinder Singh, Virendra Singh and Jasanpreet Singh, belonged to a banned organisation named Khalistan Commando Force, reported India Today.

Police recovered two AK-47 rifles and one glock pistol from their custody.

More details are awaited.
