Police sources said a company of the 28th battalion of PAC from Etawah was deployed for the security of a two-day event on the occasion of Sharad Purnima at the pilgrimage site.

"One of the jawans, Sachin Kumar (27) shot himself with his rifle and committed suicide in the morning," they said.
