Uttar Pradesh: Man kills wife, 2 children before committing suicide in Lucknow

Lucknow/UNI: A man killed his wife and two children before committing suicide in the Uttar Pradesh capital on Saturday.

Police Commissioner Sujit Pandey here said that the incident occurred at Shivani Vihar colony in Gudumba area of the state capital.

Pinto Gupta (32) first strangulated his wife Arti, eight-year-old daughter and six-year-old son before hanging himself from ceiling of the house.

The bodies were recovered on Saturday morning after the neighbours informed them, the Commissioner said.

Family dispute and e-rickshaw loan was said to be the reason behind the extreme step.

The family was native of Varanasi.

Police were investigating the case and a forensic team was conducting investigations.
