Uttar Pradesh Budget outlay for 2018-19 is 11.4 per cent more than last year

Lucknow, Feb 16 (IBNS): The Uttar Pradesh government presented its budget for Rs. 4,28,384.52 crorre for financial year 2018-19, on Friday, according to media reports.

The state finance minister Rajesh Agarwal presented the budget, which focused on farmers, artisans, youth, infrastructure and urban development, media reported.

According to the budget plan, Rs 2757 crore has been allotted for minority welfare while Rs 575 crore has been allocated for 'divyang' pension scheme.

The government allotted Rs 1500 crore in the state budget for the Kumbh Mela arrangements.

For the education sector, according to media reports, the UP government has allocated Rs 480 crore for the Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan while Rs 76 crore has been earmarked for free book distribution. Sarva Shiksha scheme will get Rs 18,167 crore. Rs 404 crore has been allocated for madrassa modernisation, media reported.

The government has also allocated Rs 2048 crore for mid day meal, Rs 167 crore for distribution of fruits to school children while the Ahilyabai Free Education Scheme gets Rs 21 crore.

The finance minister said that Rs 100 crore has been earmarked for fertilizers to farmers.

The government has allocated Rs 1650 crore allocated for smart city, Rs 250 crore given for regional rapid transport, and Rs 2873 crore for PM Gram Sadak Yojna.

The latest budget of the Yogi Adityanath led government has new schemes worth Rs 14,341 crore while the budget outlay is 11.4 percent more than last year, reports said.
