US Presidential poll: Donald Trump stuns Hillary, takes White House

 Riding on the resentment among working class Americans, Trump pulled off a victory ending an eight year old Democrat rule fighting a poll which was highly polarized and marked with mud slinging and various allegations against each other.

"To be really historic [as the win is called historic] we have to do great job," he said in a speech at the Trump headquarters in New York, while not forgetting to thank his rival Hillary Clinton who also called him and congratulated him on his historic win.

"It is a movement," he called his gruelling campaign and even called it nasty and urged all to come together.

"Time for us to come together....we will become second to none," he said, urging all to build America. "I love this country," he said amid applause.

"We have a great economic plan, we will double our growth," he said, adding that it will create job for all and said "we will get along with all other nations who are willing to get along with us."

"No dream is too big, no challenge too great," he said, adding that America will settle for only the best.

"We will deal fairly with everyone," he assured,

Trump crossed the 270 mark electoral votes required to win the poll.

Meanwhile, outgoing President Barack Obama has congratulated Trump over phone, reports said.

"Mr Obama invited Mr Trump to a meeting at the White House on Thursday to discuss the transition," BBC reported.

Global leaders have congratulated Trump on his victory.

Indian Prime Minister  Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated  Trump and said he is looking forward to work with him.

“Congratulations Donald Trump on being elected as the 45th US President," Modi said in a message.

"We appreciate the friendship you have articulated towards India during your campaign."

"We look forward to working with you closely to take India-US bilateral ties to a new height”, the Prime Minister said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also wished Trump on his victory.

"According to Kremlin, President Putin sent a telegram to Donald Trump, congratulating him on his victory in the US presidential election and wishing him success in taking on the serious task of being head of state," Sputnik News reported.

Congratulating newly elected US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping said he is looking forward to work with him and expand China-U.S. cooperation in every field.

"I highly value the relations between China and the United States, and I am looking forward to working together with you to expand China-U.S. cooperation in every field, at the bilateral, regional and global levels, on the basis of the principles of non-conflict, non-confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation, with differences controlled in a constructive manner, so as to push China-U.S. relations further forward from a new starting point, better benefiting the peoples of the two countries and other countries," Xi was quoted as saying by Xinhua News Agency.
