US NSA Sullivan meets EAM S Jaishankar ahead of PM Modi's Washington visit

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday met visiting US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan during which they discussed global strategic developments as well as PM Modi’s upcoming State Visit to the United States.

In a tweet, EAM posted: “Great to meet US NSA @jakesullivan46 in South Block today morning."

“Our conversation focused on preparing for PM @narendramodi’s upcoming US visit," he said.

“Also discussed global strategic developments from the perspective of our partnership,” he said.

On Tuesday, NSA Sullivan had held talks with Indian NSA Ajit Doval and also called on PM Modi.

During the talks between PM Modi and the US NSA, the two reviewed the progress under the India-US Initiative on Critical & Emerging Technologies (iCET) and other issues of bilateral cooperation.

On Tuesday, the two National Security Advisers met for restricted discussions on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Later in the evening, they attended the second Track 1.5 dialogue on iCET organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry.
