US envoy to India condemns Uri attack in Kashmir

New Delhi, Sept 18 (IBNS): US ambassador to India Rich Verma on Sunday condemned the terror attack in Kashmir's Uri in which 17 Indian soliders were martyred.

"We strongly condemn the terror attack in Uri, J&K. Our thoughts are with the families of the brave soldiers who lost their lives," he tweeted reacting to the early morning strike by terrorists backed by Pakistan. 

Earlier Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh  condemned the deadly attack at Uri's army base camp in Jammu and Kashmir which left 17 Indian soldiers killed and blamed Pakistan for supporting terrorism and terror groups.

While Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said those behind the attack won't go unpunished, Singh said : "Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolated as such."
