UP Shia Waqf Board Chairman threatens to commit suicide if Modi does not return to power

| @indiablooms | Apr 30, 2019, at 04:49 pm

Lucknow, Apr 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Waseem Rizvi triggered yet another controversy on Tuesday, when he announced to self-immolate in front of the Ram temple at Ayodhya, if Narendra Modi did not become the Prime Minister of the country again.

In a statement here, Rizvi said the fanatic Muslims were giving him life threat for supporting the Ram temple and if Modi loses, then he will have no other option, but to commit suicide.

"I will self-immolate near the gate of Ram temple in Ayodhya, if anyone else becomes PM in 2019, as I have always supported nationalism above any religion," he added.

According to Mr Rizvi, whenever he talked about nationalism, the fanatics threatened him, saying that once 'Mr Modi is out of power, they will cut me into pieces'.

"It would be better for me to kill myself, rather than being killed by the terrorists and anti-national elements," he added.

Rizvi has remained in controversy ever since BJP came to power in UP, for openly supporting the construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
