UP: Man hacked to death by son in Mahoba

Mahoba: A 46-year-old man was hacked to death by his son with a sharp-edged weapon allegedly over petty dispute in the Charkhari area of Mahoba district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a police officer said here.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umesh Chandra said that Makhan Lal, a resident of Gorkha village, had a dispute with his son Brijendra over some issue.

"During altercation, Brijendra attacked Makhan Lal with an axe injuring him seriously," he said.

He said that the family members took Makhan Lal to the community health center from where he was referred to medical college in a serious condition.

"Makhan succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the medical college," he said.

The DSP said that the body has been sent for postmortem examination and the matter was being investigated.

Meanwhile, SP Aparna Gupta visited the village and inspected the spot.

She directed the local police to arrest Brijendra, who is absconding after the incident, at the earliest.
