UP elections: Akhilesh Yadav gets cycle symbol

Lucknow, Jan 16 (IBNS): Gearing up for the Uttar Pradesh polls, state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has been declared as the owner of the cycle symbol of the Samajwadi Party.

Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav lost the batle for the symbol.

The Election Commission said Akhilesh Yadav faction can use the symbol.

With SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav staking claim over the ‘cycle’ symbol, the battle within the party had reached the EC.

The Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh  will be held in seven phases between Feb 11 and Mar 8.
