UP by-polls: 155 candidates file nominations

Lucknow, Sept 30 (UNI ): A total of 155 candidates have filed their nominations for the by-polls of 11 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh to be held on Oct 21.

On the last day of nominations on Monday, a total of 121 candidates filed their nomination papers including all the 11 candidates of BJP and its ally Apna Dal(Sonelal).

The scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done on Tuesday while Oct 3 is the last date for withdrawals, EC sources here on Monday said.

The highest 20 candidates have filed their nominations in Govindnagar and Jalalpur seats, 18 in Pratapgarh ,15 each in Gangoh, Lucknow Cantonment and Ghosi, 12 in Balha and 10 each in Rampur, Iglas, Manikpur and Zaidpur assembly seats.
