UK stands in solidarity with India and is ready to offer any support needed: PM Boris Johnson tweets after Uttarakhand disaster

London: British PM Boris Johnson has offered to support India if needed to tackle the situation following a glacier burst in Uttarakhand which led to a flash flood on Sunday.

"My thoughts are with the people of India and rescue workers in Uttarakhand as they respond to devastating flooding from the glacier collapse. The UK stands in solidarity with India and is ready to offer any support needed," Johnson tweeted.

Rescue operation is currently going on in Uttarakhand's Chamoli where a glacier burst led to a massive flooding of the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers on Sunday.

The bodies of 10 people have been recovered so far, official reports said.

15o people are feared to be missing so far.

 Relief and rescue operations, involving Army, Navy, Airforce and NDRF teams, were continuing on a war footing.
