Two terrorists killed as Pampore encounter stretches over 50 hours

Pampore, Oct 12 (IBNS) : After a gun battle that stretched over 50 hours, the Army on Wednesday said two of the terrorists, holed up in a Government institute were killed as forces entered the seven-storey building, media reports said.

One terrorist was killed on Tuesday while one was gunned down on Wednesday. The Army are now looking for a possible third terrorist inside the Entrepreneurship Development Institute building.

The terrorists had barged into the building on Monday evening and since then the gun battle has been on with the Army.

According to an NDTV report, over 50 rockets, machines guns and hundreds of grenades have been used against the terrorists.

A soldier was injured in the initial firing after the terrorists entered the building.

The reports quoted officials as saying that the e encounter has stretched on because the building offers a "bunker-like" protection.
