Two militants killed in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Apr 21 (IBNS) Two militants have been killed in a fierce gun battle with security forces in Kupwara district of north Kashmir since early Thursday, police said.

The gunfight took place in the forest  forest area of Lolab.

“The army and the Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off Gujarpati Potushai forest area this  morning after getting inputs about the presence of militants,” a senior police official said.

He further said, bodies of the slain militants have been recovered from the encounter site. The exchange of fire has stopped and  a search operation is going on.
